Dear Apple,
Seeing as you are a computer distributor, I was shocked to find out that you don't have a customer support e-mail address. Maybe because you knew that at the rate that your products fail, you would either be bombarded with e-mails, or you would get none at all since everyones' machines were crashed. I wanted to e-mail you, just to inform you about my disappointment with your product. I bought a brand new iBook for my freshman year of college. I was going to an art school, so Apple, with their reputation in the design field, seemed like a no brainer. For my first year nothing seemed to have problems except for a few faulty keys, but it wasn't anything tragic. A few months after my one year warranty expired, the logic board in my computer had to be replaced. WHAT??! How does the main component of the computer just magically break? I wasn't particularly hard on my computer, I mostly used it for internet and editing photos for class, and the thought of a 600 dollar piece of my computer just breaking was beyond me. I really had no other choice but to replace it, and sent it off for repair at the local Apple store. Some time later I had to call and check on the status, for the time they told me it would take to fix was long overdue. They seemed to be baffled by the situation and assured me that I would get my computer in the near future. Days later my computer was shipped as promised, only to find that every 2 hours or so my computer would freeze up. I am entering the second year of my ownership of this computer, and after wondering why my computer blacked out from no charge with the charger plugged in and the green light on (my battery only lasts about ten minutes), found that the pin from my charger had broken off inside of the charger port. Lucky me! I went to the nearest Apple distributor to see what they could do, only to find that I would have to shell out another 375 dollars to fix it, and 100 more for a new charger! Don't worry though, he reassured me that he saw this thing all the time. How is a faulty product going to cost ME almost 500 dollars!??! By now I could have bought a new computer!!!! Now I understand that the newer models of Apple's laptops have an improved charger that works magnetically, but why do I have to buy a whole new computer just to get one that has no problems?
